When I was an infant, Mother was impressed to keep the
seventh-day Sabbath. For several years we did not know anyone else who was
keeping the Sabbath.
One day my eldest sister heard a knock at the door. There
stood literature evangelist Willie White. He began describing the book he was
selling, entitled Bible Readings. After listening for a short time she said
that she was not interested in religious discussions because the truth was not
taught or practiced in churches today.
Willie White asked what she meant. My sister replied,
“Ministers and churches do not teach obedience to God’s Ten Commandments. We are not worshipping God on the true Sabbath. The Bible says the seventh day is the Sabbath, and that day is not Sunday.”

Willie White smiled and asked, “Would you like to attend a
church where everybody believes like you do?” The next day the pastor of the
Seventh-day Adventist church visited our home, and on Saturday, seven members
of our family went to that church. I was a small boy, but I shall never forget
my conviction that we had found the Truth. A few weeks later we were baptized.

Because literature evangelist Willie White contacted us,
today many of my relatives are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
They are Bible workers, nurses, schoolteachers, church elders and officers.
In my ministry, it has been my privilege to baptize more
than 12,500 persons into the Seventh-day Adventist church. All this began when
literature evangelist Willie White knocked at the door of our home.
